Meet the Therapist

Rebecca “Becca” Jones, MA, LPC (she/they)

My name is Becca, and I’m here to recruit you… to have a happier, healthier, more balanced life – to have a life worth living, the life you envision. I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas who works with adults in individual therapy. I'm based in San Antonio, but serve clients from all over Texas. Clients often come to me because:

  • They're struggling with a wide variety of concerns from sexuality to depression to trauma
  • They're often not part of the dominant society or a privileged group in one form or another
  • They need someone who "gets it"

I work from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, multicultural feminist perspective – always an equal partner with you in the therapy process and taking your cultural background into account when working together. I firmly believe in the saying that "the personal is political," and with therapy being a very personal process, the politics that directly impact our lives cannot be separated out from this process. While I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and strategies as we work on your therapeutic journey together, I most align with relational cultural theory. You can expect me to tailor therapy to your individual needs, while always rooted in the firm belief that the power of genuine, positive human connection can be healing.

No matter the struggle you’re facing, it is my hope that we can work together to help you not just try to survive in life, but to really live and thrive! It is my goal to co-create with you a safe, supportive, collaborative environment in which you can grow and heal. It is an honor that you would consider me in your search for a therapist, and even if we are not the right fit for each other, I will gladly provide referrals, if needed.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Schreiner University in 2014 and my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman's University in 2017. I've been working with clients since the beginning of my graduate training in 2014. While in my master’s program, I completed my clinical training at the Denton County Jail (2015-2016) and Brookhaven College (2016-2017). Since graduating, I have worked in the Bexar County Jail, domestic violence intervention programs, community mental health, and private practice. I completed my post-graduate licensure hours under the supervision of Dr. Faith Harper from 2018-2020. I have been licensed as an LCDC since 2018 (currently deactivated due to a shift in treatment focus) and fully licensed as an LPC since 2020.

I have extensive experience working with forensic populations (actively incarcerated, probation, parole, CPS, drug court, veteran’s treatment court), and while I am no longer working in this area, this will always be a passion of mine. My career has been dedicated to serving folks who have been repeatedly marginalized and discriminated against; whose wings were often broken before they had a chance to learn how to fly. I started my own private practice in 2022 with the mission to continue the work of fighting against oppression and violence and fighting for equity and the celebration of diversity. I am most passionate about working with clients who are neurodiverse, LGBTQIA+, kinky, poly/ENM, childfree by choice, low/no contact with their parents, disabled/living with chronic pain/illness, and have a history of trauma.

In the near future I will be completing the process to become an LPC Supervisor with the hopes of accepting LPC Associates beginning in Summer/Fall 2026.

When I'm not engaging in the rebellious act of being a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets; crafting, and listening to music (metal is my favorite).
